Neurologist

Duties and Responsibilities:
Neurologists are medical doctors who specialize in the nervous system and study how the brain functions. They treat all kinds of disorders and diseases from brain tumors to basic migraines. They also work with head and nerve trauma patients as well. Educational Requirements:
Similar to other physicians, neurologists must begin their careers by going to college and then attending medical school. As an undergraduate, aspiring doctor who majors in a science, such as biology, chemistry, or physics will be better prepared for a medical school curriculum. Although most colleges do not have a pre-med major because medical schools do not require any specific major, some schools do offer a pre-med concentration that may include the biology, chemistry, physics and math courses required by medical schools.

I would like to be a neurologist because I enjoy how the brain works.

"I will persist until I succeed"
- OG Mandino

Reflection: Whenever I see that I mess up in a song, I practice solely that part of the song. I practice and practice and practice until I I get it right and I know once I get that piece right the song in its entirety sounds so much better. When I practice my shots in basketball, I do not finish practicing unless I have made 10 free throw in a row. I miss just one then I start all over from zero.

"Hold yourself responsible for a higher standard than anybody else expects of you. Never excuse yourself."
- Henry Ward Beecher

Reflection: You should always do more than what is expected. Say if someone wants you to score 15 points in a game of basketball. You would want to strive to score 15 points and once you get there you should have the feeling to score more and more and soon enough you would score 28 points in one game. You should never think that you are exempt from anything less. Always trying your hardest and you know how hard you can work. Fill that potential till the end.

" Goal setting is goal getting. Set and get. "
-  Mark Victor Hansen

Reflection: This is something great to live by. It may not be a guarantee but it will make you a better person and show you are by trying to pursue these goals. It shows great attitude and determination. Kobe Bryant never wanted to be the best player in the game, but he did always strive to be the best player he can be. And for that he keeps improving his skills everyday and becoming smarter and better.

"The best way to predict your future is to create it."
- Charles Ketterer

Reflection: One should not think about what they think they will do. They should have to act upon it to make it into a reality. When one thinks about just having a good life or becoming an athlete they are not creating their future. All they are doing is simply just trying to see what may lie ahead of them. They should be practicing and working out each day and never stop. Many professional athletes today practice even though they are professionals. Why? Because they want to improve their skills. There is never a good enough because there will always be someone pushing harder to become better and better. They are not wasting their time by believing they are good enough and that they do not need to improve.

Student Success Statement #41

"Set your goals high, and don't stop till you get there."
- Bo Jackson

Reflection: It is amazing when someone accomplishes something with such a great challenge. Such as Michael Phelps when he practices for the olympics. He does not like to go into the water until about a year after the olympics, but when he begins to practice again he practices everyday to get better for about 3 years. He does not quit on his training. Now he has 8 gold medals and the reason: dedication...

Student Success Statement #31

"You will become as great as your dominant aspiration (goal)"
- James Allen

Reflection: I belive this is true only if it truly is what you aspire. The brain is a very powerful thing if it is committed. If you have you mind set on something and you really do want it. You will get what you want because you will do the things necessary to achieve that goal. I really choose to be successful so I always try my best in school to have a better future. But not only that, I extend my network to get to know some important people that can benefit me. Goals are only goals unless you act upon them, not if you just talk about it.

"A definite worthy goal, combined with a positive mental attitude (PMA), is the starting point of all worthwhile achievement."
- Napoleon Hill

Reflection: My entire life I have been looking for one thing and that has been success. Many people see me being a big time person in the world because of my way of pushing myself to be the best there can be in whatever I want. I tackle every situation head first and ready to fight my way to succeed. I never believe in defeat unless it's already upon my shoulders and I am reaching the end.
