Licensed Practical
Nurse
Duties and
Responsibilities:
LPNs work under the control and
direction of registered nurses and physicians. They take care of injured,
handicapped, and sick patients. They must take temperatures, blood pressures,
and pulses. They also assist in giving injections, change dressings, and assist
with bathing the patients. They assist with care of almost everyone who cannot
do it themselves.
Average
Salary: $16,000 - $23,000
Educational
Requirements:
Although a high school diploma or
GED certificate is not always required, it is encouraged. LPNs do not have the extensive professional
education that is required for a registered nurse. State approved training programs are offered
by the hospitals, vocational schools, junior colleges and private schools.
I do not wish
to be an LPN because I do not believe I would enjoy doing a lot of things for
people all the time.
