Student Success Statement #42

"The best inspiration is not to outdo others, but to outdo ourselves.
- Anonymous Author

Reflection: I sometimes look to the goal of trying to beat others because when one thinks of setting goals its good to do better and better than what you have done the previous time. But when I comes to making yourself stand out, you have to find what other have not done yet and surpass them. There is certain situations in which one is better than the other but there will never be a time where one will always be better than the other.

Student Success Statement #41

"Set your goals high, and don't stop till you get there."
- Bo Jackson

Reflection: It is amazing when someone accomplishes something with such a great challenge. Such as Michael Phelps when he practices for the olympics. He does not like to go into the water until about a year after the olympics, but when he begins to practice again he practices everyday to get better for about 3 years. He does not quit on his training. Now he has 8 gold medals and the reason: dedication...

Student Success Statement #40

"You can't put a limit on anything. The more you dream, the farther you get."
- Michael Phelps
Reflection: I always dream about being an incredible musician. Never just the best in my school. I always think beyond. It does not serve one justice if they don't think about having abilities outside of what they can imagine. It reminds me of a book called Faust. the main character makes a deal with a demon to gain the knowledge of things one is not able to imagine of. He wishes for this because he is a scientist and wishes to know more. Limits can cause the demise of a human; not striving for more than he think he can achieve.

Restoring Faith in Humanity

Many times I think that humanity has no hope. Many people think about themselves rather than others. I tend to do the same but its the way one has to live in this cruel society. I am a part of the Humanitarians Club in my school. I am not there for my college requirements because I already have 200+ hours of community service completed. I am there to help others and the environment because I love seeing a smile on the faces of others. It pains me to see others that do not feel happy as I do because I know that we should all like in joy but in today's world no one seems to care. Especially those that have had everything given to them in their lives.

Student Success Statement #39

"Try a little harder to be a little better."
- Gordon B. Hinckley

Reflection: This is my mentality when I am working out. I always try a bit better everytime when I run my 3 miles. I always tell myself to run for a bit longer or to do longer strides to get better and better times. Doing a bit better everytime would get you a great increase in performance in the long run. I always work a bit harder everyday to see my growth in the future.
