"I will persist until I succeed"
- OG Mandino

Reflection: Whenever I see that I mess up in a song, I practice solely that part of the song. I practice and practice and practice until I I get it right and I know once I get that piece right the song in its entirety sounds so much better. When I practice my shots in basketball, I do not finish practicing unless I have made 10 free throw in a row. I miss just one then I start all over from zero.

"Nothing in the world can take the place of persistance. Talent will not; nothing is more common then unsuccessful men with talent.
Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistance and Determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan 'Press On' has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race."
- Calvin Coolidge

Reflection: Examples are posted up everywhere. Many of my older friends are extremely talents musicians and singer but they have not hit fame. Many people are intelligent such as the Dennis Ritchie, who created C, the programming language but he was never a big name to the common person. There are also many smart students in HPIAM but they never put their best foot forward in an attempt to succeed in life.

JFK Physical Fitness

President Kennedy was speaking to the public about being physically fit. He said it tied down with mental health. He also said that he wishes that there never be day where there are many specatators and just some people on the field. He wishes that every American be on the field participating in physical fitness. My promise to physical fitness will be to eat healthier. I currently exercise a lot everyday but in order to truly be fit I must fix my diet to allow me to be truly fit.

SSS #52

"Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity. The relationship between the soundeness of the body and the activities of the mind is subtle and complex. Much is not yet understood. But we do know what the Greeks knew: that intelligence and skill can only function at the peak of their capacity then the body is healthy and strong."
- John F. Kennedy

Reflection: Kobe Bryant would not be able to be the great and amazing player he is today if he did not take care of his body. He exercises everyday to help him maintain his shape. He wouldn't have gotten the opportunity to be one of the greatest players to have ever lived and become so intelligent of the game if he didn't spend so much time into his body. It keeps his mind at ease and his hard work in fitness pays off in the court when he reads the defense and is able to determine which is the best spot to take a shot from or if he should pass the ball.

"No student ever attains eminent success by simoply doing what is required of him/her; it is the amount and excellence of what is over and above the required that determines the greatness of ultimate distinction."
- Charles Kendall Adams

Reflection: This past sunday I completed one of my goals which was to try out for a Drum Corps. It was an amazing experience. One of the things that I was told at my audition was that I am doing more than many others HS students are required to do. Drum Corps requires a lot of practice and dedication in order to find success. This experience is music taught me that success is created by those who strive for excellence rather than what is expected.

"Doing what is right, fair, and honorable is more important than winning or losing."
- Chick Moorman

Reflection: Many times when I play a game online, I have to race people that love to cheat. When I am passing them up they like to hit the bottom right or left of my car to execute a PIT maneuver and I get frustrated because I don't cheat. I always drive behind them to catch the draft and quickly pass them up. I really don't like cheating when I play any type of game. When I win, I like to have an honorable win; something you have to earn and play fair for.

"Hold yourself responsible for a higher standard than anybody else expects of you. Never excuse yourself."
- Henry Ward Beecher

You would want to strive to score 15 points and once you get there you should have the feeling to score more and more and soon enough you would score 28 points in one game. You should never think that you are exempt from anything less. Always trying your hardest and you know how hard you can work. Fill that potential till the end.
