Orthotist

Orthotist
Duties and Responsibilities:
Orthotists work with patients that need extra support with patients that need extra support for their muscles, spine, or limbs. They design, make, and fit apparatuses made of plastic, wood, leather, and metal that help stabilize, strengthen or replace body parts.
Physicians give patients prescriptions for prosthetic devices. They can also plan with an orthotist to plan and design for a needed device.
They can work in clinics or may own their own privates businesses.

Average Salary:  $25,000 - $40,000

Educational Requirements:
Students should take challenging science, math, and English courses in high school.
Some colleges and universities offer bachelor degrees in orthotic and prosthetic programs.  These programs include courses in anatomy, physics, mathematics, mechanical drawing, and the use of materials used in the making of devices.  After a year of experience a person may apply for certification.

I would not like to be an orthotist because although it may take some artistic skills, I would not be able to take it serious.
