Integrity

Many people believe promises shall only be kept so long as the person is there with them. Abraham Lincoln made a promise to his mother that he would never smoke and drink whiskey because is mother was ill from doing so. When he went on a trip with a colonel, the colonel asked him if he would drink with him and smoke with him. Lincoln said no because he knew that he had made a promise to his mother and wasn't planning on breaking that promise anytime soon.
