Duties and
Responsibilities:
Neurologists are medical doctors who
specialize in the nervous system and study how the brain functions. They treat
all kinds of disorders and diseases from brain tumors to basic migraines. They
also work with head and nerve trauma patients as well. The career, like most
doctoral professions, requires intensive and extensive amounts of education and
hands on training. This is due to the fact that most neurological procedures
are highly delicate and have little room for mistakes.

Educational
Requirements:
Similar to other physicians,
neurologists must begin their careers by going to college and then attending
medical school. As an undergraduate, aspiring doctor who majors in a science,
such as biology, chemistry, or physics will be better prepared for a medical
school curriculum. Although most colleges do not have a pre-med major because
medical schools do not require any specific major, some schools do offer a
pre-med concentration that may include the biology, chemistry, physics and math
courses required by medical schools.
I would like
to be a neurologist because I enjoy how the brain works.
